Attorney Biography
Matt Levy is a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney who has been practicing law since 1995. He has been certified thru the Florida Bar since 2003, having been re-certified as a civil trial specialist in 2008 and 2013. Less than 3% of Florida lawyers have achieved board certification, which is the highest distinction in the practice of law.
Mr. Levy is a partner with Metnick, Levy & Dyson, PA, in Delray Beach, Florida, where he has worked since January 1998. Mr. Levy has run the firm's litigation department since his arrival. During that time, he has handled over 2,000 personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, inadequate security, and premises liability cases and has been involved in over 45 civil jury trials.
Mr. Levy is AV-rated through Martindale Hubbel, the nation's leading legal periodical, which is considered its highest rating and is preeminent. He also is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) since 2015. In 2018, Mr. Levy won the prestigious Florida Justice Association (FJA)'s Michael Bailey Award, given to only one member yearly, in recognition of his leadership, participation, and involvement on the TLEL statewide list serve.
Since 2005, Mr. Levy has been a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which is limited to attorneys who have won cases for over $1 million. Mr. Levy has won and resolved numerous cases for over $1 million during his tenure at Metnick, Levy & Dyson, including jury trial verdicts of $10.7M, $4.2M, and $3M, and settlements of $1.6M, $1.3M, and $1.1M.
Mr. Levy attended the University of Delaware for college, where he graduated in 1991, and attended law school at Nova Southeastern University, where he graduated in 1994. He has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1995.
Mr. Levy only handles injury and death cases on behalf of accident victims - not insurance companies, corporations or retail establishments. The firm, open since 1988, handles cases on a contingency fee basis only, meaning there will be no attorney fees and costs unless there is a monetary recovery on the case. In addition, the firm of Metnick, Levy & Dyson handles probate litigation, private disability disputes, life insurance disputes, and 1983 Civil Rights violation cases.
