Attorney Biography
Leanna Smith is a top criminal defense attorney with a background tailor-made to successfully advocate for your defense: After receiving her undergraduate degree from Stetson University in Political Science, Attorney Smith went on to attend both the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (ranked among the top 100 law schools) ¬in New York City and Yale Law School in New Haven, CT.
While at Cardozo, Attorney Smith was one of just eight individuals selected by former O.J. Simpson DNA attorney, Barry Scheck, to work on The Innocence Project. The famous, groundbreaking program focuses on using DNA evidence to get wrongly convicted individuals off of death row and out of prison. In addition to her work with The Innocence Project, Attorney Smith regularly participated in national criminal defense moot court competitions, where she honed a variety of defense skills-ultimately becoming a top criminal defense attorney and a forceful presence in the Volusia County court system.
