Jonathan Burton Blecher

JONATHAN B. BLECHER is a member of the Florida Bar since 1982. He is admitted to practice before all Florida courts, the United States Supreme Court; United States Court of Appeals, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits; United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the Eastern District of Michigan and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar in each of those jurisdictions.

Mr. Blecher graduated from the University of Florida, College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice in 1978. Mr. Blecher earned his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Florida, College of Law in 1981.

Mr. Blecher served as an Assistant State Attorney in Dade County, representing the State of Florida in felony prosecutions from 1981-84, and as Senior Trial Attorney at Essen & Essen, P.A. from 1986-1992. In 1992 he formed his own firm, Jonathan B. Blecher, P.A. Mr. Blecher was referred to as a "TOP TEN DUI LAWYER" by the Miami Herald. He has served as a member of the Florida Bar Traffic Court and DUI Rules Committee.

Mr. Blecher is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the American Civil Liberties Union. He serves as a Judge for the University of Miami Law School moot court and mock trial competitions. Additionally, he has lectured at the Dade County Police Academy in the area of courtroom procedure for police officers as well as legal seminars for attorneys about DUI law and practice.

His practice concentrates on DUI and Criminal Defense and in State and Federal Courts. He represents clients in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties in DUI, Misdemeanor, Traffic, Felony, White Collar and Cyber Crimes. Mr. Blecher has defended over 3,000 Driving Under the Influence and vehicular crimes cases since 1982 as well as thousands of criminal cases.

Jonathan Blecher is a General Member of the National College for DUI Defense and is Peer-Review Rated "AV/Pre-eminent" by Martindale-Hubbell, rated "10.0/Superb" by AVVO and is recognized by Cambridge Who's Who and Florida Trend Magazine Legal Elite.
