About John Wellington Wesley

Attorney Biography

John Wellington Wesley assists clients throughout the State of Florida with claims involving catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, and death.  In addition, Mr. Wesley represents clients in first party insurance disputes where their insurance company has denied coverage.  Mr. Wesley obtained undergraduate degrees from Florida State University, where he was a double major in Multinational Business and Marketing.  He then attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, CA on a partial scholarship, where he graduated Cum Laude.

Mr. Wesley has been practicing law since 2001 and is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of Florida, as well as the US District Court for the Northern District of Florida.

Despite being the youngest member of the firm, Mr. Wesley has been recognized by his peers for his skill and experience as a civil trial lawyer.  Mr. Wesley was recognized as a Rising Star (attorneys under 40) by Florida Super Lawyers magazine for 2012, 2013, and 2014.  No more than 5% of all attorneys in the State of Florida were eligible as Rising Stars.  Mr. Wesley was also selected as a member of The Top 40 under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers, signifying his qualifications, trial results, and leadership as a young trial lawyer.

Additionally, Mr. Wesley is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law, which requires significant trial experience, peer endorsement, judicial endorsement, and successfully passing a written examination testing trial knowledge and skills.  Mr. Wesley passed on his first attempt. Less than 7% of all attorneys in the State of Florida are Board Certified, and a significantly smaller percentage are Board Certified in Civil Trial Law.   Board Certification is the highest level of evaluation recognized by the Florida Bar, and allows Mr. Wesley to hold himself out as an “Expert” or “Specialist” in this area of the law.

Mr. Wesley has also been chosen as a member of the Florida Bar's Civil Trial Board Certification Committee, where he has served for 5 consecutive years.  The Civil Trial Certification Committee considers and rules upon applicants for Board Certification, drafts the annual Board Certification exam, and grades the examination to determine eligibility for Civil Trial Board Certification.  Currently, out of the approximately 76,000 attorneys licensed in Florida, 11 serve on this important Committee.

Mr. Wesley’s entire legal practice is devoted to civil litigation.  Mr. Wesley is a trial lawyer and a relentless advocate for the injured.
