Attorney Biography
I’m a native of Cuba. Growing up in a communist country I saw a lot of injustice. Those daily injustices would be something that would stay with me for the rest of my life. When I was thirteen years old I had an opportunity to come to the United States with my family and pursue an education. It was then that I realized that injustice does not only exist in communist regimes. Since I was old enough to think I vowed to fight injustice wherever it may exist.
After getting my law degree I went to work for Miami Dade County’s Public Defender’s office. While there I handled hundreds of cases and won everything from misdemeanor to murder charges in front of juries. It was there that I learned that there is no more powerful weapon against injustice than a skilled trial lawyer and a fair minded jury.
Perfecting the skill of trying cases to juries is my life-long pursuit. A pursuit that goes hand in hand with helping people get the justice they deserve. After all, we are in the people-helping business.
