Gus Soto is an experienced DUI attorney in Tallahassee, FL. He will fight hard to protect your legal rights. He is licensed in both Florida and Georgia and has been practicing law for nearly 30 years.
Attorney Gus Soto has handled over 200 jury and non-jury DUI trials, giving him extensive DUI trial experience. He has served as an Assistant State Attorney, where he prosecuted criminal cases ranging from minor misdemeanors to capital felonies.
He received specialized training in DUI trial work at the Harvard University College of Law and is certified as an operator of the Intoxilyzer 8000 and 9000 machines – the breath alcohol testing machines used in both Florida and Georgia.
He completed the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) course which is the highest level of training for DUI police officers. Less than 1% of police officers are certified drug recognition experts.
He has also completed the Advanced Roadside Impairment Driving Enforcement Course (ARIDE). The ARIDE course is required of police officers in drug-related DUI cases and only a small number of police officers have completed the course to become drug recognition experts.
Additionally, Attorney Gus Soto holds membership in both the National College for DUI Defense and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association.
