Attended the University of Louisville and received Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1985 and law degree in 1990. He has defended employers and carriers since 1992 in Worker's Compensation and related matters. He founded Harbsmeier DeZayas, LLP, in 1996 with offices in Lakeland, Winter Haven and Tampa, Florida. He is Board Certified in Worker's Compensation Law.

In addition, Mr. Harbsmeier is committed to the conservation of endangered species globally. he has a number of clients in the animal industry, from private breeders around the country to commercial businesses to non-profit organizations. Also, he a Member of the Board of Trustees of Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo.
