Attorney Biography
Charles L. Gibbs II is a partner at Driver, McAfee, Hawthorne & Diebenow. Mr. Gibbs focuses on real estate law, with particular emphasis on retail leasing and commercial real estate transactions. He counsels both landlords and tenants in all aspects of retail leasing and various other commercial real estate transactions.
Mr. Gibbs received a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion from Bowdoin College and a Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the University of Florida.
Mr. Gibbs has been admitted to the Virginia Bar and the Florida Bar. He previously clerked for the Honorable David H. Adams, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He previously worked for McGuireWoods LLP (Jacksonville, Florida) and Pappas, Metcalf, Jenks & Miller (Jacksonville, Florida) before joining DMHD in 2009.
Mr. Gibbs is a past member of the Vestry of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Mark's Episcopal Day School and a past president of the Alumni Board of the Episcopal School of Jacksonville. Mr. Gibbs is a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association.
