Attorney Biography
I am a Colorado native who grew up in Fort Lupton, Colorado. I worked in the construction industry before joining the Army, and eventually going to law school at the University of Michigan Law School.
I joined the Army because I felt a calling to serve my country. Even though I left the Army, I have never stopped serving. I helped to establish a first of it’s kind legal clinic at the University of Michigan where student attorneys provide legal services at no cost to veterans who neither qualify for free legal aid, or are able to afford representation on their own. After returning to Colorado I clerked for the District court and served as a Deputy District Attorney, prosecuting misdemeanor crimes and protecting the rights of crime victims in our community.
My experience has shown to me that adequate legal services are not available to a great number of people because of the nature of our system. A very few people are impoverished enough to qualify for free legal representation. Even fewer people have enough resources to pay for their own legal representation. This forces the majority of citizens to navigate the court system without an experienced guide. My commitment to serving those in need is why I helped establish the Veterans Legal clinic, and why I started the Law Firm of Lance A Taylor.
I am a proud father of two. When I am not practicing law, I am an avid woodturner and I volunteer with veterans’ organizations.
