Attorney Biography
Jim is a 2004 cum laude graduate of the Hamline University School of Law located in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was a Dean's Scholar. He is licensed to practice law in all Colorado state courts and the Colorado Federal District Court as well as all Minnesota state courts.
While in law school he served as an Articles Editor and Symposium Editor on the Hamline Law Review and received awards for his legal research and writing skills. He also served as a certified student attorney in the Hennepin County District Attorney's Office and received recognition for his pro bono work through the Minnesota Justice Foundation.
Following graduation Jim served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Regina M. Chu in Minnesota's Fourth Judicial District, clerking on both criminal and family law calendars. Following his clerkship he practiced in the areas of family law and insurance litigation with private firms in Minneapolis, Minnesota before forming his solo practice in 2010, in Vail, Colorado.
Jim practices in the areas of Domestic Relations (family) Law and Criminal Defense. He represents client all over Colorado with a focus on the State's Fifth Judicial District, which includes Eagle, Summit, Clear Creek, and Lake Counties. Jim represents clients in all of the communities within those counties, including the communities of Vail, Avon, Edwards, Eagle, Breckenridge, Dillon, Silverthorne, Minturn, Red Cliff, Georgetown, and Leadville.
In his free time Jim enjoys all Colorado has to offer, including cycling, mountain biking, camping, hiking, and skiing.
