Attorney Biography
Douglas A. Hatherley is a Certified Family Law Specialist with a practice dedicated to family law litigation, covering child custody and visitation, spousal support, child support, domestic violence, paternity, and division of assets. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School.
Since his admission to the bar, Mr. Hatherley has exclusively practiced family law, gaining experience at prominent family law firms in Orange County, the Inland Empire, and Los Angeles. He previously served as a partner at one of Orange County's most prestigious family law firms. During law school, he was a judicial extern in the Family Law Division of the Los Angeles Superior Court and the Senior Production Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review.
Mr. Hatherley has been recognized in the Super Lawyers Southern California and Super Lawyers Southern California Rising Stars lists, as well as The Best Lawyers in America®. His work has been published in the Daily Journal, and he has achieved the AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, signifying the highest level of professional excellence in legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards as ranked by his peers.
Additionally, Mr. Hatherley has served on the Executive Committee Board for the Orange County Bar Association's Family Law Section. He is a graduate of the National Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute (NFLTI) in Houston, Texas, which is the premier litigation skills course dedicated exclusively to family law.
