He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Communications & Entertainment Law Review, and as Executive Editor of the California Real Property Journal. He has been awarded the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services every year since 2008, and is a Life Fellow of the California Bar Foundation.
