Attorney Biography
Two of my favorite quotes: "Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts" and "Those who serve supreme causes must not consider what they can get, but what they can give." Sir. Winston Churchill. I have always tried to engage in activities that mattered and have enjoyed creating and growing departments in my work for others and in building my own law firm and company from the ground up, always contributing to my community where possible and never giving up, even in difficult times.
In 2001 I started my own law firm and litigated matters in family law, construction law, employment law, business law, criminal law, and personal injury. Soon after I opened my own firm I also became assistant general counsel for A&W Builders, litigating matters from breach of contract to construction defect.
The success my wife and I were having on the Pro ITSA Tandem Surfing World Tour, placing 3rd in the world rankings in 2008 and 2009, inspired me to open a surfboard company. In RWorld my plan was to engage in what I call "Socially Conscious Capitalism." On a global scale, I created the "One For Life" program wherein we donated money to help fight Malaria in Africa. On the local community level, I created "The Opportunity Project" (TOP) which is a program to support local school programs. I regularly donated surfboards and other product to local school programs and clubs for their auctions to help them raise much needed money to fund their programs and clubs. In 2015 and 2016 RWorld was voted OC's best surf shop by OC Register readers.
And now, at the Guild, I have assembled a team passionate about helping builders navigate the murky waters of mechanics lien & construction defect law. And should the need arise, the Guild will help builders keep their business in tackt and focus on the best interests of their children while going through divorce proceedings. That's why I started The Contractors' Defense Guild & The Complex Divorce Center
