Attorney Biography
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere!"
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Attorney Belinda Weldon believes Dr. King’s words to be true. In 1991, Belinda was a homicide detective with Birmingham Police when she re-investigated a double murder case from 1972. Belinda proved the man convicted of the case did not commit the murders. Because of Belinda’s investigation, the State of Alabama awarded the convicted man, Freddie Lee Gaines, one million dollars for wrongful conviction. After the Gaines case,Belinda realized other innocent people needed her help. She went to law school to become a criminal defense attorney and has been defending people since 1998.Belinda is committed to seeing justice carried out in the lives of her clients just like she did with Freddie Lee Gaines by providing aggressive and quality representation as well as by conducting a thorough criminal defense investigation in every case she handles. Let Belinda help you! After all, what’s your freedom worth?
