Poor Performance

I hired Mr. Waxler through my companies MetLife Legal Plan. I reached out to Mr. Waxler and told him I was looking to obtain a Power of Attorney (POA) with the intent of having it signed and notarized during a family visit. This family visit gave him 8 business days to complete the document. I received an initial draft that contained banking information and account numbers that I did not recognize, and after several conversations where I emphasized the desire for a general power of attorney, I kept received multiple drafts with specific activities that constrained my request for a general POA. I had a difficult time contacting Mr. Waxler and we routinely missed calls and I found myself more often trying to reach him via e-mail instead (business which Mr. Waxler performs from an @gmail.com account instead of one maintained through his website). In the end, on the last business day my family was available I was able to get in touch with Mr. Waxler. While I waited for my computer to boot up Mr. Waxler casually stated that he would require an additional $100 for the service as it had “taken more time than usual,” at which point I reminded him that this service was covered by my MetLife legal plan coverage. Facing the disagreement, Mr. Waxler asked if there were any corrections required (there were), but I was taken back by the request for an additional $100 that I declined to move forward with our interactions as I became very wary of what additional charges Mr. Waxler would request. I immediately contacted MetLife Legal Plan providers and notified them of the interaction. I would not recommend Mr. Waxler for legal support as this request took far too long and required too many back and forth communications for review for what is a very common and standard legal document.
