Attorney Biography
William “Bill” Spooner is a seasoned workers’ compensation attorney at DM Injury Law. He earned both his B.A. and B.S. degrees from the University of Missouri–Columbia before obtaining his Juris Doctor from Creighton University. Throughout his career, Bill has been an active contributor to the workers’ compensation field, participating in numerous speaking engagements and authoring written works on the subject.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Bill built a career in the law and remains deeply involved in the legal community. He is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Clay County Bar Association, and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys. In recognition of his professional excellence, Bill was named a Best of the Bar honoree by the Kansas City Business Journal in both 2003 and 2004. He has served on the Board of Governors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys since 1995 and was recognized as a distinguished member in 2015.
Bill has also played a significant role in shaping workers’ compensation legislation, chairing the Workers’ Compensation Legislative Committee from 2004 to 2009. In 2003, he received the MATA President’s Award, presented by then-President Gary Robb, in recognition of his dedication and service.
Outside of the office, Bill enjoys spending time on the golf course, but his greatest joy comes from time spent with his children and three grandchildren.
