Attorney Biography
Ryan Watson’s legal career is firmly grounded in the Midwest. Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he completed both middle and high school there before continuing his education in-state. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Banking from the University of Missouri–Columbia, then went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law.
After beginning his practice in St. Louis, Ryan relocated to Kansas City, where he spent the next 15 years building a successful career in civil defense litigation. He devoted a decade to a prominent national defense firm, ultimately becoming a partner. During that time, Ryan represented insurance companies and product manufacturers in complex litigation across the country, gaining deep insight into how large corporations and insurers evaluate, defend, and resolve claims—knowledge that now serves as a powerful advantage for his clients.
In 2016, Ryan made a defining shift in his career, transitioning from defense work to representing individuals and families harmed by negligence or misconduct. This move placed him on the opposite side of the courtroom, advocating for plaintiffs in the very types of cases he once defended, with a renewed focus on accountability and justice.
Today, Ryan represents personal injury clients throughout the Midwest, guiding them through every phase of the legal process—from the initial claim through final resolution. He also works closely with DM Law’s regional offices across multiple states and plays a key role in managing the firm’s most complex and technical matters.
Known for his strategic, assertive approach, Ryan treats every case with the same dedication he would give to a close friend or family member. He builds trust through clear communication and a personable, down-to-earth style, ensuring clients feel informed and confident at every step. His ultimate objective is to secure the strongest possible recovery for his clients in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
