Attorney Biography
Brendan Lykins has built his legal career around holding negligent parties—and their insurers—responsible, so his clients and their families can focus on recovery and moving forward. He is dedicated to achieving just results, whether a case is resolved through negotiation, trial, or appeal.
Originally from Topeka, Kansas, Brendan earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Kansas State University, along with a second major in international studies and a minor in French. After college, he spent five years living in Seoul, South Korea, where he taught language courses in public schools, private academies, and at the Seoul National University of Education. In 2011, Brendan returned to Kansas to attend Washburn University School of Law and was admitted to the bar in September 2013.
Brendan remains actively involved in the legal community as a member of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association, where he serves on the Education Committee, as well as Trial Lawyers University and the Wichita Bar Association. He has also contributed as a faculty presenter, leading continuing legal education seminars for both the Wichita Bar Association and the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association.
In recognition of his success in personal injury litigation, Brendan has been selected to the Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list each year since 2019 and has been named to Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” list since 2021. Prior to joining DM Injury Law, Brendan advanced to the role of Chief Trial Attorney at a large personal injury firm, where he secured the firm’s top jury verdicts in both 2019 and 2021. He also gained experience working at a plaintiff-focused firm handling complex medical negligence cases.
Outside of work, Brendan enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, flying, biking, and traveling.
