I was served divorce papers as I was bringing my kids to grade school. My (now ex-) wife had decided that she wanted to be a single parent more than part of a family, so I had to explain to three very young children why I was so upset after I was given papers on the way to school. I did the best I could at explaining to them in the time I had, and made sure that they knew that I love them and to never hesitate to ask me anything that they are curious about. I hired Ben as soon as possible, and that was a very good decision- he helped me understand the dynamics of the situation and get needed counseling so I wouldn't be a victim of narcissistic manipulation because I could recognize the process.
