1. Counsel exacerbated the problems between myself and my ex-wife. When I hire a lawyer, I want them to solve problems, not create new ones. Counsel did not use his best efforts to quiet the conflict and allow parties to move forward. 2. The process was extremely expensive, and ultimately took three trips to the Montana Supreme Court and many years to reach a resolution. Although I legally prevailed it was through firing Matt Neill, hiring a new attorney, I have no relationship with children, who were effectively kept from me throughout the dissolution case, and are now adults. Further, my life was kept on hold for years while the case spent years in court. 3. I was jailed twice, and then released, based upon orders which were obtained and then overturned by the Montana Supreme Court or the District Court itself. One would expect counsel to intervene more quickly to prevent bad things from happening, rather than “fixing” them after they occur. Counsel did not act proactively to keep harm from occurring. 4. Counsel switched from full representation to limited scope, and in making that switch did not complete tasks which may have saved me money, such as seeing through the modification of child support, connection with my children. 5. Counsel created a legal issue where my Mother had to retain her own Counsel as she was tied into my divorce due to his poor management of my case. 6. His poor representation created a case that is now accepted as legal case law and continuing education in Montana by allowing my Mother to be dragged into the divorce case. 7. His inability to resolve the parental alienation, his inability to enforce the court ordered therapy for my children and his complete disregard for fighting for equitable contact with my children. 8. He did not hold my ex-wife accountable for educating the children as a result the three kids have no GED or HS diploma. He refused to address the parenting plan at all in the case.
