Attorney Biography
I am a partner at McCollum & Griggs LLC, and represent individuals and their families throughout Missouri and Kansas, including Kansas City, Springfield, Clinton, Lee's Summit, Columbia, Kirksville, Trenton, Chillicothe and other Missouri areas. I have devoted my practice to representing those who have suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI), concussions and wrongful death, and handling cases that involve motor vehicle accidents, bicycle and motorcycle accidents, trucking accidents, injuries caused by drunk drivers, premises liability,and litigation against insurance companies.
I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City and then continued my education at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law where I earned my Juris Doctor degree in 2001.
With a decade and a half of experience, I have successfully represented clients who suffered injury due to someone else’s negligence. I worked to secure a $4 million settlement in a dram shop action for two teenagers who were seriously injured by a drunk driver. In addition to holding an Avvo "Excellent" rating of a 10, I have been included in the Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers for the past 5 years, have been voted as Best of the Bar for Plaintiff's Personal Injury attorney in the Kansas City Business Journal and have been named a Top 100 Trial Attorney for 2015 by the National Trial Lawyers..
I also serve on the board of directors for the Kansas City area Association for Women Lawyers (AWL-KC), the Board of Governors. for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA), the MATA Women's Caucus for Kansas City, AWLF's Connections Program as a mentor, and have been admitted to the bar for the United States Supreme Court, Missouri Bar and the Kansas Bar/ I am members of Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), the Clay County Bar Association and the MATA, AWL, AAJ and many other legal and community organizations.
It is also very important to me to give back to my community through service. I serve on the Hope Haven of Cass County board of directors, am a founding member of Support Your Sisters (an organization to raise awareness of dating violence and date rape), and volunteer for the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Harvesters and other organizatoins.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter and going to our cabin near Clinton, MO.
