Guilty
In a Kentucky Civil Rights case, attorneys Sam
Nicholson and Marilyn “Linsey” Shrewsbury
successfully obtained a jury verdict in favor of
their client. These claims included employment
discrimination on the basis of race, hostile work
environment, and retaliation. The facts giving
rise to the cause of action spanned nearly one
decade, when the Plaintiff was employed by Norton
Healthcare as a Pathologist Assistant from 2006
until her termination in June of 2015.
After seven days of proof and arguments in the
Jefferson Circuit Court, Division Ten, the jury
rendered its verdict in favor of the Plaintiff on
her claim of hostile work environment. The jury
awarded damages for pain, suffering and
humiliation in the amount of $250,000.00.
