Go Elsewhere! Constant excuses & delays.

4/7/21: A day after this 1 Star review was posted on Google; the next day several "5 Star Reviews" appeared. Quite a coincidence. Anyway, here's a true story: Went to Ms. Keane for a pre-nup and clarification on financial disclosures. Sent retainer and called after 3 weeks and asked "what's taking so long?" She apologized, but it was obvious that she hadn't even started yet. Finally, I received an email - not with a first draft, but with a "Disclosure Agreement" that had to be signed before she'd release the document. WHAT? More delays now - what is this? I just wanted a pre-nup, not her arbitrary disclosures, opinions, and hypotheticals. So, my first draft was being held hostage until I signed her surprise disclosure which was never mentioned previously. Additionally, other issues included: poor communication, extreme tardiness and complaining to get anything done. Meanwhile, I received no legal advice to central questions and no understanding of my needs. What I did receive were delays, excuses, apologies, holding back work product and a rush-rush routine. Upon stating that I would not sign her unnecessary disclosure, I contacted an ethics attorney who was outraged by her behavior. Therefore, I had to fire Ms. Keane due her carelessness, lack of legal advice, and unprofessional behavior. The next day, I received a package from her with 30% of my retainer for a draft of mumbo-jumbo. She didn't even itemize her time spent - another ethics issue. Interestingly, she included $112 from another case in 2012 another ethics violation. As soon as I mentioned hiring an ethics attorney, the $112 she had kept for 9 years suddenly appeared. I may hire an ethics lawyer (especially after she's posted highly questionable reviews) and try to uncover more of her wrong-doing. I plan on taking to her to small claims court to recover my full retainer.
