Michael P. Kane

Mike Kane is a Denver personal injury attorney specializing in car accidents, truck accidents and catastrophic personal injury litigation. He also represents victims of sexual assault against institutions and individuals.

Mr. Kane is a former US Marine who served a tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After leaving the military, he returned to Colorado and served as a Deputy District Attorney in the Arapahoe and Douglas County DA's Offices. He then entered civil practice and has focused exclusively on the representation of injured plaintiffs.

Mr. Kane won a $6 million-dollar jury verdict against a commercial bus company, a $2.45 million-dollar jury verdict against a private ambulance company and a $2.7 million-dollar jury verdict on behalf of a client seriously injured in an automobile collision. 

Mr. Kane has negotiated an $8 million-dollar settlement in a contested liability trucking case and a $5 million-dollar settlement against a school district on behalf of a young woman who was sexually assaulted by her elementary school teacher.

In 2023 Mr. Kane secured a high 7-figure settlement on behalf of a client catastrophically injured in a slip and fall on a dangerous sidewalk and won a $900,000+ jury verdict against Home Depot in a premises liability case.

Mr. Kane is known as an aggressive litigator and believes in taking the fight to the insurance companies. He is frequently asked to speak and has given multiple presentations at Colorado Trial Lawyers Association events. He believes the greatest honor in the legal profession is helping injured victims and their families obtain the justice they deserve. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers, National Trial Lawyers, American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys, American Society of Legal Advocates and the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys as one of the top injury litigators in Colorado. Mr. Kane was recently selected for inclusion in the American Board of Trial Advocates, a peer-selected society comprised of plaintiff attorneys, defense attorneys and judges throughout Colorado.

Mr. Kane also believes in giving back to the veteran community. He is a board member of the Colorado Bar Association Military and Veteran Affairs section and regularly participates in veteran-focused fundraisers. He also serves on the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association legislative affairs committee.
