Attorney Biography
Robert D. Bohm, Esq. obtained his bachelor’s degree in business from Northern Illinois University.After working in private industry for six years, he continued his education at the University of Arizona College of Law, graduating with his Juris Doctor in 1977.
An active trial lawyer, Robert is admitted to practice in all Arizona state courts, all Washington state courts, the United States District Court for Arizona, the 9th Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals, and before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Bohm has represented thousands of individuals in legal matters.Since 1983 he has limited his law practice to personal injury law, and in 1992, he was certified by the State Bar of Arizona as a specialist in injury and wrongful death litigation – a distinction held by 1.5 % of Arizona lawyers. Active in the legal community, Robert has served as President of the Arizona Association for Justice (AzAJ) and has chaired of its Continuing Legal Education Committee, Legislative Committee, and Advanced Trial Advocacy Conference. With the American Association for Justice (AAJ), he serves as a member of the Law Schools Committee, the Resort Torts Litigation Group, and is Co-Chair of the Spinal Cord Injury Litigation Group.
He is a multiple-year selection as an Arizona "Super Lawyer" by Southwest Super Lawyers Magazine, an annual publication identifying the top 5% of attorneys in each state, as chosen by their peers and through independent research.Mr. Bohm was also an inaugural selection by Arizona’s Finest Lawyers.He is a member of the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums, one of only five Arizona attorneys who belong to these national groups.
A frequent lecturer to lawyers, Mr. Bohm also has taught programs on medical-legal issues to medical students at A.T. Still University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona and Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine.
In 1998, Mr. Bohm was awarded the H. Ted Podleski Distinguished Service Award, the highest award given to a non-physician by the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association. He was instrumental in the Arizona Spinal Court Injury Association establishing a partnership with the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, and in 2011, the establishment of the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Washington.
Mr. Bohm also volunteers on multiple boards and councils: Arizona Spinal Cord Injury Association, vice president 2003-2011, president 2011-present; the Governor’s Council on Spinal and Head Injuries, vice chair, 2005-2011; the Red Means Stop Coalition, 2001-present, president 2002-2006; the Arizona Osteopathic Charities Board of Directors 2002-present; and the Brain Injury Association of Arizona, Professional member.
