Attorney Biography
Bob McGuirl has 35 years of litigation experience and has tried over one hundred matters to conclusion in his career in addition to handling thousands of others and bringing them to resolution. He is a former Manhattan homicide prosecutor and has been Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney.
He has and continues to represent both plaintiffs and defendants in product liability cases at the request of individuals, referring counsel, self-insured manufacturers and insurers.
Bob McGuirl has taught continuing legal education courses for many years on products liability and medical device litigation for various national, state, county and specialty bar groups as well as spoken on the topic to clients, engineers, industry groups and members of the general public.
His writings outside of litigation have appeared in legal, trade and industry periodicals, journals, books, seminars and other publications. At various times he has served as Chair of the Products Liability Sections of the New Jersey State and Bergen County Bar Associations.
His office also prosecutes and defends claims and lawsuits on behalf of physicians, group practices and ambulatory surgical centers in a wide variety of areas, including restrictive covenants, practice, business and contract disputes, ASC matters, hospital privilege and BME issues, and coverage disputes.
He is a member of the Health Law Sections of the American and New Jersey Bar Associations and teaches continuing legal education courses on health care related litigation for the bar.
While admitted to multiple bars and jurisdictions, he appears primarily in New Jersey state and federal court. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and its trial advocacy program as well as a cum laude graduate of the College of the Holy Cross
