Florida Bar Board Certification:Matthew A. Linde is one of approximately 332 lawyers who have attained board certification by the Florida Bar in Wills, Trusts and Estates. Certification is the Florida Bar’s highest evaluation of an attorney's competency, experience and professionalism in the areas of law approved for specialization. As of January 2015, less than one-half of one percent (< .5%) of the lawyers currently licensed to practice law in Florida are Florida Bar Board Certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates. Matthew A. Rodriquez,153 So.3d 371 (Fla. 2nd DCA 2014)Education and Court Admissions: In 1989 Mr. Linde received a B.A. degree from the University of WisconsinSumma Cum Laude, and in 1993 he received a Doctor of Law, J.D., degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. In 1999 he received his post-doctorate degree in taxation (Master of Legal Letters or LL.M.) from Golden Gate School of Law in San Francisco, California. Mr. Linde was first licensed to practice law in May of 1993, and is currently licensed to practice law in California, Minnesota (inactive), Florida, and admitted to practice law in the United States Tax Court, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. In California Mr. Linde worked for one of the largest professional service firms in the world and gained significant experience in preparing income and estate tax returns for wealthy individuals and estates as well as estate and tax planning.
Military Service:Matthew A. Linde was born in Minnesota and graduated high school in Janesville, Wisconsin. Mr. Linde then entered the U.S. Air Force and was trained at the U.S. Air Force Survival, Evasion, Rescue and Escape (S.E.R.E.) School at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington. After intense training Mr. Linde became a certified S.E.R.E. Instructor in the 3636th Combat Crew Training Wing. For several years Mr. Linde taught global survival, evasion, rescue and escape techniques to Air Force flight crews at Fairchild AFB, Washington and Homestead AFB in Florida. Mr. Linde also served in the Resistance Training Branch of the U.S. Air Force S.E.R.E. School teaching flight crews various methods of interrogation they could expect to see if captured and effective ways to resist interrogation. Mr. Linde was awarded the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal for his service at the Resistance Training Branch in the 3612th Combat Crew Training Squadron. Mr. Linde served more than ten years in the U.S. Air Force, which includes six years in the Wisconsin Air National Guard. While in the Wisconsin Air National Guard Mr. Linde was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal for developing and presenting S.E.R.E. lectures to 128th Tactical Fighter Wing (then the home of the A-10 Warthog) Aircrew Members. Mr. Linde is an accredited attorney before the Department of Veterans Affairs and can assist veterans and their dependents with processing claims for benefits.
