Steven William Martin

Steven W. Martin is an Associate Attorney at Hiden, Rott & Oertle, LLP.

Steven joined the firm in early 2011 and practices in the areas of Civil Litigation, Workers Compensation, and Social Security Disability.

Educational Background

In May of 2009 Steven graduated with honors as the class Salutatorian from Laurence Drivon School of Law, a private school located in Stockton, California, with an excellent reputation in its local community.

In Law School Steven received numerous awards and recognitions including: the Laurence Drivon Scholarship in recognition of achievement as top student in 1st year law class; being selected as one of the three top 3rd Year students to be a member of the Judge Consuelo M. Callahan Inn of Court; and several Laurence Drivon School of Law Honors Awards as the top student in: Disability Law, Contracts, Torts, Property, Family Law, and Constitutional Law.

In addition, Steven participated in Moot Court and was a member of the Wray Ladine American Inn of Court.

Professional Experience

Throughout Law School Steven clerked with law firms, working during the day and attending school in the evenings. This permitted Steven to obtain some great "real world" legal experience, while earning his Juris Doctor in Law.

During his last year of law school he was a certified law student while working at Drivon, Turner, & Waters permitting him to perform Attorney tasks with the oversight of an Attorney.

During such time Steven drafted numerous motions, conducted depositions, and made oral arguments in court.

After taking the Bar Exam Steven immediately packed up and moved to San Diego, a place he has wanted to be for several years.

On the day of the Bar Exam results Steven was offered and accepted a position as an Associate Attorney with a Family Law Firm and was responsible for the office’s legal discovery matters.

There Steven made numerous court appearances, arguing a variety of discovery and non-discovery related motions.

During that same time Steven worked as a Contract Attorney with a firm that handles Civil and Business litigation.
